We are Magpie is mostly Louise Stephens Alexander.

Louise has worked as a professional dramaturg since 2006, specialising in new writing.  In that time, she’s worked on projects with organisations including the National Theatre of Scotland; Tron Theatre; New Writing, New Worlds Festival; Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (formerly Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama), Live! Theatre, and the Playwrights’ Studio, Scotland.  For three and a half years, she was the Literary Assistant then Literary Officer at the Traverse Theatre, where she worked with top writers, directors and companies from all over the world.  Since 2009, she has been a doctoral candidate at the University of St. Andrews, studying the agency of playtexts in the theatre production process.  She continues to read plays for theatres and development organisations in the UK and work with individual playwrights to help them achieve their vision for their plays.  She is Resident Dramaturg for Agent 160 Theatre Company.
